Doughnut lovers can purchase a dozen doughnuts today at the Farm Fresh Store and help the BPU's annual Cents for St. Susan's campaign at the same time.
The smell of freshly baked doughnuts will fill the air Farm Fresh Foods store located on Third Street in Jamestown. Farm Fresh Foods will donate $2 to the fund drive for each dozen of doughnuts sold today.
Each year since 2000, the Jamestown BPU has raised money to help St. Susan Center for use during the spring and summer months. Over 12 years, the BPU has organized a drive for the soup kitchen, raising a total of $124,580 over the time period.
Bright yellow containers have been placed around the BPU electric territory in the hope that local residents will drop spare change into the canisters to assist St. Susan Center.
Donors may also send checks written to St. Susan to the BPU in care of Becky Robbins, BPU Communications Coordinator, P.O. Box 700, Jamestown, NY 14702-0700. Customers may add an extra gift amount to their bill payments and note it on the pay stub when mailing in the gift. Contributions also may be left with employees in the BPU Customer Service Department.
Redeemable cans and bottles may be brought to BPU Customer Service as another form of donation.
In addition to Farm Fresh Foods, the following companies have sponsored the BPU campaign:
