Paul A. Westerburg of Fredericksburg, Va. will be the guest speaker for the Community Senior Fellowship meeting at 2 p.m. on Tuesday in the First Lutheran Church parlors, corner of Chandler and Center streets. He is the son of Sharon Westerburg of Lakewood and the late Ward Westerburg and the grandson of the late Rev. Paul Westerburg.
Westerburg is a 2001 graduate of Southwestern Central High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the State College at Fredonia in 2005. Demonstrating an interest in history, he continued education at George Washington University, earning a Master of Arts degree in 2008. He is employed as the Smithsonian Institution Office of Architecture History and Historic Preservation - Castle Collection registrar. In 2011, Westerburg received the ''Making a Difference'' Award from the Smithsonian Institution Office of Facilities, Engineering and Operations. Beyond his work as collection registrar, he also coordinates the unit's digital assets. He and his wife, Devon, recently moved from the Washington, D.C. area to Fredericksburg.
Devotion time will be offered by Sam M. Qadri, of the Islamic Society of Jamestown, where he serves as volunteer director and secretary/treasurer. He maintains an extensive teaching schedule at Jamestown Community College, Jamestown High School, BOCES Ashville and various other courses in pre-engineering, industry management and media literacy. Qadri is also involved as visiting clergy at the county jail and numerous area committees for which he has received awards for his participation. He is married, the father of two children and resides in Jamestown.
