For generations the The Post-Journal has provided a comprehensive daily report of happenings in the Chautauqua region.
Adding a Droid application to ways readers can get their news is the latest step the newspaper has taken to reach readers when and where they want their news. The Droid app joins the printed newspaper, the paper's website www.post-journal.com and the Apple iPhone app as ways you can get your news. All three are unique products, providing both news and special features that are unique to the media.
"The huge popularity of the Apple iPhone and iPad pushed us to develop the app for them. We are proud to build on the success of the iPhone app and the popularity of the Droid line of phones with this newest addition to The Post-Journal's online presence," said Publisher Mike Bird.
All mobile users can still access the newspaper's website using a Web browser. Content on the main site, the mobile site located at mobile.post-journal.com and on the new app is updated daily.
Visiting post-journal.com with any device running the Droid system will trigger a screen urging readers to download the app. You also can search for "The Post-Journal" in the Google Play store or simply scan the QR Code at the bottom of Page 1 or visit play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.postjournal.app.
With the app, readers can read stories, write comments, search and take polls.
"We are pleased to extend the reach of our award-winning and trusted newspaper to our readers who have long depended on us to let them know what is happening in their community," said Bird. "The addition of the Droid app gives us yet another way to serve our readers."
