CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
HANOVER - Steven L. Taber, 43, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or greater, failure to keep right, crossing official markings and no insurance. Deputies on Sunday around 2 a.m. observed a vehicle traveling east on Route 5 and 20 cross the center and hazzard lines several times. Taber was found to be intoxicated. He was released with traffic tickets and will be in Hanover Court at a later date.
HARMONY - Andrew J. Sheldon, 26, of Ashville, was charged with DWI, aggravated DWI with a BAC of .18 percent or greater, moving from lane unsafely and operating out of class. Deputies on Sunday at 3:44 a.m. responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident on Hoag Road in Harmony. Sheldon was found to have driven his vehicle into a ditch while intoxicated. He was taken into custody and later released to a third party. Sheldon will appear in Harmony Court at a later date.
JAMESTOWN - Joshua K. Crist, 32, of Allen Street, Jamestown, was charged with petit larceny. According to a police report, Crist used a benefit card on Oct. 11, 2011, and received $89.93 in food stamp benefits he did not deserve. Crist will be in court at a later date.
STOCKTON - Jeremy Ranney, 34, was charged with using a cellphone while operating a motor vehicle and uninspected motor vehicle. Holly Roman, 40, of Brocton, was charged with passing in a no-pass zone. According to a police report, Ranney was southbound on Route 380 in the town of Ellery and turned onto Sinclair Drive. At that time Roman, also southbound, attempted to pass a vehicle in a no-pass zone when their vehicles struck one another. Ranney and Roman were issued appearance tickets. Roman was transported to WCA Hospital to be treated for her injuries.
