The snow and inclement weather didn't stop members of the local Viking Lodge from having an exciting and fun-filled Easter party for 62 children ages 10 and under and their parents.
Shouts of excitement could be heard throughout the Viking Lake Park facility as the young people searched out hundreds of eggs - especially the golden and silver eggs.
Each child was given a bag to put their "treasures" in as they participated in the age group activities. The traditional Viking Easter Bunny (Karen Ray) made an appearance to the delight of the young Vikings reading especially selected stories to them.

Prizes were also awarded to those who came closest to guessing how many jelly beans were in a jar. At the conclusion of the party, the children were given the popular Little Debbie treats and lemonade through a donation from Mark E. Smith.
Chairperson for this event was Viking Vice Chief Mindy Worden. She expressed thanks to all who helped with the Easter party, making it so successful: Chief Steve Kosthorst and his wife Vicky, Steve Worden, Wayne and Brenda Nelson, Mark Davis, Bonnie Magers, Paula Steele, Lynn and Bob Lindberg, Bob and Orissa Greenwald, Linda Smith, Ron Willey, Betsy Lynch, Jody and Richard Swindell, and Gary Sorenson.
