Barry Alan Carlson, 57, of 127 Maple St., James-town, died at 10:52 a.m. Monday (April 8, 2013), at his residence.
He was born in Jamestown on Dec. 2, 1955, the son of Barbara Gardner Carlson, Jamestown, and the late Norman Carlson.
Barry was employed with Labors Local 600 and had also worked construction for private contractors.
He loved sports and was passionate for his favorite teams: Dallas Cowboys, Texas Longhorns, L.A. Dodgers and the L.A. Lakers.
He loved children, especially giving them nick-names and he had a special love for Amelia "Meeber or Goober" Dolce and Christian "The Tool or Filegar" Dolce.
He is survived by his wife, Roseann Caruso Carlson, whom he married June 10, 1995, in St. James Catholic Church; a brother, Jeffrey S. Carlson and a sister, Karlene Martella, Texas; two nephews: Jeffrey A. Carlson (whom he loved as a son), Celoron, and Dustin Carlson, Texas; three nieces: Sondra Carlson, Rochester, N.Y., Kristyn Bango, Warren, Pa., and Morgan Carlson, Texas; a great-nephew; two great-nieces; his father and mother-in-law, Jack and Ann Caruso, Jamestown. Several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
He was preceded in death by his uncle, Alvin Gustafson.
The funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday in the Hubert Funeral Home And Cremation Services. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor, will officiate.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
