Jamestown Bowling Company will play host for the qualifier for the QUBICA/AMF International Family Tournament on April 28 beginning at 10 a.m.
The event is part of the 38th annual New York State Family Tournament and there will be divisions for parent/youth and parent/teen with the entry fee set at $35 per team.
Once statewide qualifying concludes after May 1, teams will advance to the upstate finals, which will be held at Owego Bowl in Owego on June 8. The advancement ratio is 1:5 in each division.
Those teams that qualify in Owego will move on to the International Finals, which are scheduled for July 25-28 at Holiday Lanes in Columbus, Ohio. Bowlers will compete for more than $70,000 in scholarships.
Scholarships, if warranted, will also be awarded at the state finals in each division. First-place teams will each receive up to $750 for travel expenses, a three-night hotel stay, meals and activities.
For second place, junior bowlers will receive $300 in scholarships and for third place, the juniors will earn $100 scholarships.
