The 11th annual Jamestown Area Bowling Council's Hall of Fame Masters Scratch Tournament will be held at Jamestown Bowling Company on April 14 with qualifying squads set for 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m.
There will also be a desperado squad (one game for $10 and the highest game makes the first-round eliminator). There is $2,000 in added prize money.
The cost to enter is $65 and bowlers will roll four games across eight lanes and the top eight shooters from each squad will make the cut and the top eight overall scores receive a one-round bye.
The finals are eliminator-style and the final four bowlers will roll two games each and total pinfall determines the winner.
First place is a guaranteed $1,500 and the remainder of the price list, based on 100 entries, will pay $800 for second, $500 for third, fourth pays $400, 5th-8th pays $300, 9th-16th pays $200 and 17th-24th will pay $150. Overall, the prize ratio is 1-out-of-5. All prize fees are returned 100 percent.
The oil pattern used will not be a "house" shot and lanes will stripped and re-oiled before the finals. Junior bowlers may participate, smart funded.
PBA exempt players are not eligible to bowl and all USBC rules will be in effect. Bowlers must hold current USBC cards to participate.
Five dollars of the entry fee will go to benefit the Jamestown Area Bowling Council Hall of Fame and the tournament is co-sponsored by Butternut Brook Farms (Ray and Cathie Textor) and Mir Oil (Larry Case).
