SYRACUSE - In a high school girls basketball season that has featured arguably the finest collection of individual talent this area has produced in years, it seems only fitting that some of those players - eight in all - have been recognized on the New York State Sportswriters Association all-state teams.
Announced Monday, the squads are headlined by senior Elle Reed of Sherman and sophomore McKenna Maycock of Randolph, who have been named to their respective Class D and Class C second teams.
Also recognized are senior Dani Reinwald of Clymer, fourth team, Class D; senior Janae Hamilton of Ellicottville, fifth team, Class D; senior Maggie Moore of Olean, fifth team, Class B; senior Shawna Raymond of Frewsburg, eighth team, Class C; senior Khee Nance of Dunkirk, ninth team, Class B; and sophomore Anne Campion of Jamestown, 10th team, Class AA.
