BUSTI - Firefighters from Busti, Lakewood, Kiantone, Fluvanna and Frewsburg battled a fully engulfed structure fire on Busti-Stillwater Road on Monday afternoon.
The fire broke out at approximately 2:30 p.m. at Busti Auto Sales. According to a report, workers were present in the building using cutting torches at the time of the fire.
Matt Stafford, of the Busti Fire Department, said that it took roughly two hours to bring the flames under control after engines began to arrive on the scene.

"The structure that the fire started in is completely gone," said Stafford. "It was like three structures in one, and two of the three aren't there anymore. The back half of the building is still there, though, and that's where they were storing the engines and the transmissions, things like that."
Stafford also noted several factors that made it difficult for crews to extinguish the flames.
"The wind was a big factor," said Stafford. "Every time we'd start to make a little headway, the wind would pick up and kickstart the flames. The tin roof had collapsed, too, and we had to take care of that before we could really begin working on the fire."
There were no injuries as a result of the fire, but Busti-Stillwater road was temporarily closed on Monday afternoon. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team, but remains undetermined at this time.
