Representatives of area libraries were guests of Ross Grange at the March 11 meeting. Included were: Sue Seamans, Falconer librarian; Jack Taylor, board member from Fluvanna; Lorie Brockelbank and Lorie Huckelberry, Sinclairville library; and Linda Wragg, Ellington librarian; as well as Mary Jane Griffith, also from Ellington.
Each told of what they are doing, and why it is necessary for all to have fundraisers. Most also must maintain their building, as well as staff, books and computers. Seamans reminded Ross Grange that even with modern technology at libraries, they are there to meet the needs of the people. Each library was given a check for $500 to further their education in the community.
Ross members voted to donate $100 to the new Falconer Region Community Fund, and to give to the Falconer After Prom and Senior Vigil committee.
Plans for the annual awards banquet on April 8 and Grange Month were discussed.
The next meeting will be March 25 with the Family Activities presenting the program. Also included will be information on the part of Ross Grange in the World War II effort. Fellowship will be at 2:30 p.m. with the program and meeting at 3.
