Marvin A. Sutton, 93, of Bradenton, Fla., passed away peacefully Friday, March 8, 2013.
He was born in Stockton, N.Y., and was a steelworker at Allegheny Ludlum Steel in Dunkirk, N.Y. He was also a dairy farmer in Stockton, N.Y. He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II, where he was the recipient of four Bronze Battle Stars, a Purple Heart, and a Distinguished Flying Cross with First, Second, and Third Bronze Oak Leaves.
He is survived by two sons: the Rev. Dr. David (Lori) Sutton of Sarasota, Fla., and Kevin Sutton of Bradenton; three daughters: Judy Sperry of St. Petersburg, Fla., Shirley (Vern) Birkey of Sebring, Fla., and Gloria Miller of Whittier, Calif.; a sister, Elaine Titus of Sinclairville, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Graveside service were held Friday, March 15, 2013, at Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota with the Rev. Dr. David Sutton officiating. Online memorial and guest book at www.gunterfuneralhome.com.
