St. Timothy Lutheran Church will host the fifth week of its Health and Wellness: Complimentary Alternatives to Traditional Medicine Lenten Series on Wednesday evening. The worship service begins at 7:15 p.m., and will feature this week's guest speaker, Jim Rovegno, who will speak about "Natural Medicines and Remedies." All are welcome to attend.
Rovegno is a pharmacist and has practiced pharmacy for the past 44 years. He is licensed in New York, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania. Rovegno's professional career has included work in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry and the retail chain store industry. He has owned several independent pharmacy businesses. He has also developed expertise as a consultant in the nutritional supplement industry, in diabetes management and in other specific health areas.
Rovegno has opened a new model pharmacy in Lakewood, Lakewood Apothecary, specializing in complementary medicine, that is, helping people combine alternative therapies such as nutrition, herbs and homeopathy with their traditional therapies to provide better outcomes and better life quality. Through the years, he has served on the boards of many civic, professional, church and business organizations.
Rovegno and his wife of 40 years, Maureen, reside at Chautauqua Institution, where they are both active community members. They have two daughters and a son, as well as three granddaughters and two grandsons.
Preceding the worship service, there will be a no-cost dinner at 6:30 p.m.
