BUSTI - The SSAFE Sportsmen's Outreach will host the second annual wild game banquet and auction on Saturday, with doors opening at 5 p.m., at the Busti Church of God, 996 Forest Ave. Extension.
The banquet buffet will feature both wild and domestic meats along with various side dishes and desserts. There will be many door prizes and silent auctions. Tickets are $10 per person.
Brent Henderson will be the keynote speaker. Henderson is a professional hunter and musician whose travels have taken him to more than 30 countries and 49 states hunting, fishing and touring with his music. He's hunted for whitetail and turkey all over the Midwest and the east coast. He's bowhunted the plains game of Africa to bear and caribou in the Illiamna mountain range of Alaska.
As a pro staff member of Bear Archery, Grim Reaper Broadheads, Whitetail University, In God's Country, and God's Country Camo, Henderson has hunted from the plains of Africa to the mountains of Alaska.
Henderson is a published outdoor writer and field tester for premier outdoor suppliers including Goldtip Arrows, PolarMAX, Bear Archery, Trophy Ridge, WoodsWise, Nullo, ATSKO, Grim Reaper and many more. Henderson also worked on a commercial salmon boat off the Aleutian Islands and has fished all over the United States and Canada. There will be several environmental and outdoor organizations displaying at the event, including: Roger Tory Peterson Institute of Natural History, Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy, Jamestown Audubon Center and Sanctuary, Hunt of a Lifetime and Project Healing Waters.
