President Lincoln believed in the God of the Bible, and did not hesitate to speak about our nation's accountability to Him or to analyze our problems from a proper, spiritual perspective.
I encourage readers to look up Lincoln's Second Inaugural Address (March 4, 1865) and become familiar with it.
As Frederick Douglass told the president afterward, "That was a sacred effort." America's only hope today is to return to God, goodness, and moral sanity.
