MAYVILLE - Real property owned by Chautauqua County will still require a supermajority vote to be sold after county legislators voted down a change to the local law Wednesday night.
Lawmakers voted against requiring a simple majority with 14 opposing and 10 in favor of changing the local law. Just prior to the vote, a motion to table the issue failed.
Earlier in the evening, lawmakers again failed to reach a supermajority vote to sell the County Home to Avi Rothner of Altitude Health Services Inc., falling two votes short with a 15-9 vote.
