Rebecca J. Park, 63, of East Main Street, Youngsville, passed away Monday evening, Feb. 25, 2013, at Golden Living-Kinzua in Warren.
She was born Nov. 1, 1949, in Warren, a daughter of the late Robert J. Jewell and Eileen C. (Carr) Jewell, who survives her of Warren.
Becky was a 1967 graduate of Youngsville High School. She went on to Gloucester County College to become a registered nurse, and then obtained her Bachelor of Science in nursing from St. Joseph's College of Maine. She worked as a director of nursing and administrator for many of the nursing homes in the area. She retired in 2005 from the Soldiers and Sailors Home in Erie, where she was the commandant. Becky enjoyed camping, reading, riding motorcycles, playing the piano, singing and most of all, her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband, Richard L. Park, whom she married Dec. 24, 1984, in Warren; three sons: Brian Ruhlman of Michigan, Jason (Sandy) Ruhlman of Frewsburg, N.Y., and Chad (Katrina) Ruhlman of Bemus Point, N.Y.; two sisters: Karen (Paul) Yourchisin of Warren, and Bonnie Jewell of Sheffield; and seven grandchildren: Katelyn, Kevin, Emma, Gracie, Samantha, Teghan and Jadyn.
A celebration of life will be celebrated on Friday (March 1) at the First United Methodist Church, 200 Market St., Warren, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Jeff Sterling, pastor, officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service in the parlors of the church. Burial will be in the Youngsville Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Pennsylvania Soldiers and Sailors Homes, Activities Fund, 560 East Third St., Erie PA 16507.
