GERRY - A Gerry woman faces charges following a two-car accident Tuesday.

Brenda DeCastro-Barton, 37, of 2220 Ellwell Road, was charged with failure to stop at a stop sign and uninspected motor vehicle at 3:20 p.m.

Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies say DeCastro-Barton was northbound on Herrick Road when she failed to stop at a stop sign at Gerry Ellington Road and struck a vehicle driven by a Union City, Pa. woman.

The Union City, Pa. woman and her passenger, an Erie, Pa. man were both taken to WCA Hospital for leg injuries by Gerry and Sinclairville rescue units.

DeCastro-Barton was uninjured and released on her own recognizance. She will appear in Gerry Town Court at a later date.
