SYRACUSE - The Jamestown, Brocton and Sherman boys basketball teams each moved up three places in this week's New York State Sportswriters Association rankings, which were announced Monday.
Jamestown (17-2) is No. 26 in Class AA, while Brocton (16-1) and Sherman (14-5) are seventh and ninth in Class D.
No. 2 Silver Creek (19-0) and No. 3 Maple Grove (18-1) remain unchanged in Class C; Olean (18-1) is still No. 1 in Class B; Fredonia (15-4) is honorable mention in Class B; and Clymer (14-5) is honorable mention in Class D.
Also in Class AA, Niagara Falls (16-3) improved two spots to No. 16, Clarence (15-4) - Jamestown's opponent in Thursday's Section 6 Class AA semifinal game - is honorable mention as are Kenmore West (14-6), and Williamsville North (16-4).
The rankings and records do not include results from Monday night.
This week's girls basketball rankings have not been announced.
