February 24, 2013
The Post-Journal

The Jamestown Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution held its annual spring patriotic luncheon and program recently in Jamestown. The group of members and guests were welcomed by Regent Sharon Terwilliger, and the invocation was given by Chaplain Cecilia Bingham. DAR Historian Susan W. Sipos gave a presentation on the first three presidents of the United States, and discussed all the work that the three presidents did together. Chief Cornplanter was also discussed as he had made an agreement with President Washington concerning the land for the people. Following the historical report, a buffet luncheon was enjoyed by all. Guest speaker for the day was U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Melissa George, who spoke on the procedures for those who wish to become a part of the service. The speaker was introduced by Martha Karapantso.
