BUFFALO - ''We played their type of ball game,'' said coach Andrew Krenzer following No. 6 Southwestern's 70-43 loss to third-seeded Buffalo East in a Section 6 Class B-2 quarterfinal on Friday night. ''They got several transition baskets in the first half.''
The first quarter didn't start out well for the Trojans (13-7) as they trailed 21-11 and got behind by 38-22 at halftime.
Southwestern held East to six straight possessions without a score in the third quarter, but couldn't cut into the deficit. Kyle Radack made three 3s for nine points in that stanza.
Radack was the only Southwestern player to reach twin digits as he finished with 22 points and Peter Trathen just missed with nine points.
Nick Baglia had five rebounds and Peck five assists.
Jonathan Lewis led East with 19 points followed by Jonathan Kinley with 17 points, Shawn Young with 11 points and 6-foot-9 junior Tyree Tyson with 10 points.
