Barbara Jean Doubek, 66, of 303 W. Fifth St., Jamestown, passed away Wednesday (Feb. 20, 2013), in WCA Hospital.
A native of Frewsburg, N.Y., she was born Nov. 18, 1946, the daughter of the late Marie Anderson and Charles E. Anderson Barb was raised by the late Mr. and Mrs. Emerson Eklund of Frewsburg.
She was a 1965 graduate of Frewsburg High School, and had worked as a waitress and bartender in Randolph, East Randolph, Cherry Creek, Ellington, and Jamestown areas and Cockaigne Ski Resort. Prior to retirement, Barb was employed as a secretary by The Resource Center for more than 20 years.
Barb was a member of the Women of the Moose, Jamestown Lodge and past member of the Conewango and East Randolph Fire Departments. She had been active in their fire police units, and was also past secretary of the Cattaraugus County Volunteer Fire Police Association.
Surviving are two daughters: Andrea Doubek-Ridgely of Cartwright, Okla., and Stephanie Doubek of Wilmington, N.C.; a son, Michael Doubek of Conewango Valley; and a grandson, Christopher Doubek of Conewango Valley.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Falconer Funeral Home. The Rev. Brett Heintzman will officiate.
Friends will be received by the family from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
