The Jamestown Lakers hockey team was dealt a heart-breaking loss in the Bantam Red Division championship game Monday afternoon in the Mid-Winter Classic at the Jamestown Savings Bank Arena..
Jamestown, which beat Canandaigua, 2-1 in the semifinals, had the score reversed this time as Canandaigua prevailed, 2-1.
Joey Gerace scored the lone goal for Jamestown unassisted.

Colin Wall and Joe Post picked up the goals for Canandaigua with assists to Damian Spitz, Ryan Kane, Jon Taylor and Brett Guay.
In other championship games, West Seneca nipped Armstrong-Miller, 4-3, in the Squirt Red Division; Steel City won the Squirt White Division over Strongsville, 2-1; the Hamburg Hawks beat the Niagara Junior Purple Eagles, 3-2, in the Squirt Blue Division; Butler Valley Stayduhar doubled the score on Rocky River, 4-2, in the Pee Wee Red Division; and Rochester blanked BV-Milchak in the Bantam White Division, 4-0.
SQUIRT RED DIVISION
Brennan Garvey had two goals, and Brian Gorman and Owen Hughes one each as West Seneca prevailed over Armstrong-Miller, 4-3.
McClaine Bekk scored two unassisted goals and Maddox Rearic one in defeat.
SQUIRT WHITE DIVISION
Anthony Lobb and Logan Scanlon scored unassisted goals to give Steel City a 2-1 win over Strongsville for the title.
Nathan Rajecki tallied an unassisted goal for Strongsville.
SQUIRT BLUE DIVISION
The Hamburg Hawks squeezed by the Niagara Junior Purple Eagles, 3-2, for the title.
Justin Currie and Joseph Riddle assisted on the first goal and Nicholas Trapasso and Mike Seider on the second for NJPE.
PEE WEE RED DIVISION
Jacob Bowman, Evan Koprivnikar, Luke English and William Harker had goals as Butler Valley-Stayduhar prevailed over Rocky River, 4-2, for the championship.
Luke Reiser, Clay Potochny, Andrew Martin and Giovanni Saracyhine drew assists for the winners.
For Rocky River, Frankie Lord tallied with an assist by Connor McGowan, and Mike O'Brian found the range from Noah Hess.
BANTAM WHITE DIVISION
Tyler Knicley and Sean Erne tallied two goals as Rochester won the title with a 4-0 decision over BV-Milchak.
Knicley scored first from Bradley Caryl and found the range on the second goal from Ryan Austin and Sean Erne.
Erne converted a pass from Jared Caryl and scored the second goal from Matthew Wiza.

Friday Elder had an unassisted goal and Cullen Chesnutt scored from Austin Welch as North Pittsburgh shut out Armstrong, 2-0.
PEE WEE WHITE DIVISION
Bud Bakewell won a shootout over North Pittsburgh, 3-2.
The goals in the shootout were scored by Cole Miller and Samuel Krause while Austin Spatoprico scored in regulation from Miller for Bud Bakewell.
Tyler Tocci scored unassisted goals for North Pittsburgh.
