City of Jamestown Police responded just after 6 p.m. to a report of a child being struck by a vehicle on Foote Avenue near the corner of Newland Avenue.
Soon after the accident, police confirmed that the child, a 5-year-old girl, was killed as a result.
The child was allegedly sledding down a hill alongside Foote Avenue when she traveled out into the roadway where she was struck by a Jeep Grand Cherokee.
