Fredonia, formerly of
Forestville, passed away
peacefully, Friday, Feb. 8,
at TLC/HN-Lake Shore
Hospital, Irving. A lifelong
area resident, he was born
at home in the town of Hanover, on Oct. 30, 1924, the
son of the late Robert and
Ina (Ball) Maxson.
In his early years, he attended the former Hanover
School No. 5 and graduated
from Forestville Central
School, class of 1943. Mr.
Maxson was a Boy Scout
with former Troop No. 21
in Nashville, N.Y., and
served in the U.S. Army Artillery in Germany and was
honorably discharged on
Aug. 12, 1947, after two
years of service. He then returned to the family farm
on Hanover Road, Forestville and pursued dairy
farming until his retirement. He enjoyed going to
auctions, tractor pulls, farm
shows and a trip to Hawaii
with his nieces.
Survivors include three
sisters: Irene (Edward)
Waxham, of Fredonia,
Grace (Fay) Jones, of Cattaraugus and Alta Ribis, of
Grayson, Ga. Also surviving is an aunt Agnes Ho-
ward, of the WCA Home,
Fredonia, 10 nieces and
nephews, 17 great-nieces
and nephews and 15
great-great nieces and
nephews. Besides his
parents he was predeceased
by one aunt, two uncles, a
great-niece and a
great-nephew.

Funeral Home, 39 Main St.,
Forestville on Saturday,
Feb. 16, from 10-11 a.m.,
from where funeral services
will be held at 11, with the
Rev. James D. Hankey, pastor of the Forestville United
Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow
in Smith Mills Cemetery,
town of Hanover.
