He was born Nov. 12,
1929, in O'Hara Township,
Allegany County, Pa., a son
of the late Elmer Paul and
Martha Tillotson Luther.
He was a Korean War
veteran of the US Air Force,
serving from 1951-55.
He graduated from
Brookville High School in
1948, Clarion University in
1953 and earned a master's
degree in education from
Edinboro University.
He was employed by Panama Central School as an
English teacher.
He was a member of Panama United Methodist
Church and several Masonic organizations including
Spartan Lodge No. 372,
Spartansburg, Pa., Peacock
Lodge, Mayville, and Commadry and Grand Council
of the Cryptic, both in
Fredonia.
Surviving are a daughter
Cynthia (Jim) Pavlock of
Sinclairville; two
grandchildren: Amanda
(Steven) Serrano of Sinclairville, and David
Pavlock of Lottsville, Pa.,
and a great-grandson Alex
Serrano of Sinclairville.
Besides his parents he
was preceded in death by
his wife, the former Marilyn
French, who died in 1981;
a daughter Deborah Elfvin;
a brother Elmer Luther and
a sister Ann Tosh.
No funeral service or
visitation will be observed.
Inurnment will be in
Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, Meadville, Pa.
Memorials may be made
to a charity of choice.
