Le Roy and Charlene Steppe Sr. of Jamestown, N.Y., formerly of Gerry, N.Y., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Jan. 26, 2013, at the Gerry Rodeo Conference Center in Gerry, N.Y. The celebration was hosted by their children: Kelly and Walter Feldt of Ashville, N.Y., Le Roy and Kim (Fromknecht) Steppe Jr. of North Warren, Pa., Amy and Mike Waterman of Falconer, N.Y., and Lisa and Rick Lawson of Falconer, N.Y. They are also the grandparents of Todd and Lisa Feldt of Ashville, N.Y., Laci and Tom Lawson of Panama, N.Y., Dustin and Jennifer Feldt of Ashville, N.Y., Jacob and Ellen Feldt of Celoron, N.Y., Wally and Morgan Feldt of Ashville, N.Y., Jimmy Steppe and Sara Fromknecht of North Warren, Pa., Tyler Steppe and Heather Loveless of Jamestown, N.Y., Hunter Lawson of Falconer, N.Y., and Bobbijo Lawson of Jamestown, N.Y., and 15 great-grandchildren: Kara, Scott, Brooke, Nicolas, Broderick, Oliver and Arick Feldt, Ava, Ella and Ciara Lawson, Chelsea Messinger, Stephen and Owen Glover, Vincent Loveless and Cleveland Grissom. Members from the original wedding party in attendance were Romaine Roman Sample, maid of honor, and Larry Smith, best man.
Steppe and the former Charlene Nary were married Jan. 26, 1963, at the Gerry Methodist Church, Gerry, N.Y. The Rev. Edwin Armitage performed the ceremony.
Steppe is retired from the city of Jamestown, Department of Public Works. They are members of the Celoron Legion Post 777.
