Edgewood Communities on the Lutheran Campus is hosting a free seminar for all ages on ways to save money. Amie Libby, M.S., service coordinator for Lutheran Senior Housing will present, "Easy Couponing. Shop Smart. Save Money" on Wednesday, Feb. 27, in the Lutheran Chapel at 715 Falconer St. at 6:30 p.m. In case of a cancellation due to a snow storm, the event will be rescheduled for the following Wednesday, March 6, at the same time and location.
Libby is a busy wife and mom with four active children. She holds down a full-time job, commuting from Cherry Creek to Jamestown for work each day and serves as president of several groups.
"I'm not an extreme couponer," she said. "However, I have found many ways to save time and money on household items. I have a network of friends, and we exchange ideas and coupons, which makes it fun."
Patty Eckwahl, director of marketing at Lutheran, left, gets tips on ways to organize coupons from Amie Libby, M.S., service coordinator for Lutheran Senior Housing. Libby will be offering a free seminar on easy ways to find and use coupons on Feb. 27, in the chapel on the Lutheran campus.
Participants will learn ways to save when shopping online.
"One of her best deals was buying a 10-cup coffee maker and having it delivered to her home for $4.29," said Patty Eckwahl, director of marketing at Lutheran. "Most of us are on a fixed budget, and we are looking for ways to stretch our dollars. We thought it would be fun to share what Amie has learned so others can benefit. There will be time following the presentation for the audience to participate and add new ideas they have discovered."
Libby will also discuss tricks for finding coupons online and how to join her favorite blogs.
"It takes some organizational skills to make it work," she said. "I've learned to be flexible with my shopping habits so I can take advantage of great deals when they come along."
To register, call Eckwahl at 720-9122.
