REDHOUSE - Wintry weather led to an accident involving a tractor trailer on Interstate 86 in Cattaraugus County on Saturday evening.

The Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office in a news release said Edward G. Muhammud, 50, of Cleveland, Ohio, was traveling east on the Southern Tier Expressway at 6:26 p.m. in the town of Redhouse where he lost control of his tractor trailer due to weather and road conditions.

Muhammud's truck slid sideways before overturning and coming to a rest in the roadway. The vehicle blocked the entire eastbound lane of I-86 between exits 19 and 16. The eastbound lane was shut down for several hours while the tractor trailer was removed.

Muhammud was not injured in the crash, the Sheriff's Office said.

State Police, state Park Police, Seneca Nation Marshals, Seneca Nation Fire Department, Coldspring Fire Department and the Randolph Fire Department assisted at the scene.

No charges were filed against Muhammud.
