The Jamestown Red Raiders can take another step toward their ninth Erie County Interscholastic Conference Division 1 basketball championship in the last 15 seasons today when they take on Lancaster at McElrath Gymnasium.
The varsity game tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., preceded by the junior varsity contest at 4 p.m. Both games are makeups from Friday's weather-related postponements.
The Red Raiders (12-2, 7-1), who knocked off rival Williamsville North, 55-46, on Tuesday, have three regular-season games remaining after today - at Frontier (Feb. 5), at West Seneca West (Feb. 12) and home against Orchard Park (Feb. 14). If they run the table, they will guarantee their third straight division crown.
Other rescheduled sporting events reported to The Post-Journal are Southwestern at Frewsburg, swimming, 5 p.m., Monday; Gowanda at Southwestern boys basketball, 7:30 p.m., varsity tip-off, Monday; Panama at Pine Valley boys basketball, 7:30 p.m., varsity tip-off, Wednesday; and Pine Valley at Panama girls basketball, 7:30 p.m. varsity tip-off, Wednesday.
