William Hubert Dewyea, 72, of Sinclairville, N.Y., went to be with his Lord on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013. William was born June 3, 1940, son of Herbert Dewyea and Irma Clarissa Snyder Dewyea.
William was an over-the-road truck driver for 51 years before retirement. He worked many years for Falconer Glass as a driver, as well as Falconer Lewiston in Pennsylvania as a dispatcher. Many years were also spent training drivers for Prime Time out of Buffalo. William was an avid poet and has received many awards for his poems. William was famous around the area for his jokes and his stories. His smile alone could lift any spirit. He was an amazing son, husband and father and will be greatly missed. He loved teasing people by introducing himself as Frederick Frackleberry III and as Herschel Hemaldorf.
William is survived by his wife, the former Suzanne Shreve, whom he married Nov. 28, 1981, as well as eight children: William H. Dewyea II of Sinclairville, Tammy L. Phanco and Lori A. Mann of Jamestown, Thomas W. Phanco of Randolph, William J. Dewyea and Stephen W. Dewyea of North Carolina, Amber M. Dewyea of Pennsylvania, and Heidi M. Dewyea Cronin of Sinclairville.

William is also survived by his siblings Herbert (Larry) Dewyea of Rochester, Robert Clark of Charlotte Center and Roberta Tarbell of Sinclairville. He is the uncle of several nieces and nephews, the grandfather of 25, and great-grandfather of four.
William chose cremation and a Celebration of Life event to be held at the convenience of the family. William was preceded in death by his mother, Irma Clarissa (Toby) Hanson. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
