Committee Selects Logo For Cassadaga Valley 75th Anniversary Celebration

January 20, 2013
The Post-Journal

The Cassadaga Valley 75th Anniversary Celebration committee met on Jan. 3 at the Cassadaga Valley High School library.

Attendees discussed plans for the Oct. 11-13 celebration and selected the logo to be used on T-shirts, mugs, posters and booklets. Thirty-two graphic designs were presented to the committee, created by Cassadaga Valley student artists. The winning selection and the artist will be announced later this month. Committee members not in attendance received the logos electronically or via phones with photo capabilities so that the votes could be tallied and a selection made at the meeting.

In other business, community input is especially needed for two publications: an advertising booklet and "A Community Remembers" booklet/publication. The ad booklet will feature business cards and ads from business owners who are graduates of Cassadaga Valley. Ads will be accepted from any business owner/graduate wherever they reside. We welcome business cards and advertisements from all over the United States in order to show how far and wide the influence of CVCS has spread. The cost for including a business card ad is $20, for a half-page ad the cost is $30 and for a full-page ad, the cost is $50. The overall size of the booklet will be approximately 5-by-8 inches. Further information can be obtained from Viola Dorman, ad booklet committee chair, at 75anniversarycvcs@gmail.com or vmdorman@earthlink.net .

The "Community Remembers" booklet will include a brief history of the district, interviews of people who were students or teachers in the early days of the district, archival photos and documents, and contributions of current CVCS journalism/English students. Any former student wishing to contribute or who has a photo they would like to share, contact Sue Lawson at lawsoninc@aol.com or Mary Holton at maryholton@comcast.net. Senders are requested to write "CV Anniversary" in the subject line.
