Dorothy A. Briggs passed away peacefully in Bradenton, Fla., surrounded by her family on Jan. 4, 2013.
She was born Aug. 8, 1933, in Butler, Pa. Dottie was a prior resident of Jamestown, N.Y., where she lived for many years with her family before happily retiring in Florida.
From an early age Dottie had a passion for animals and especially horses that endured throughout her life. She and her husband, Bob, owned many horses, dogs, cats and also a pony named Tiger. Together they enjoyed horse trail riding both locally and nationally. She also enjoyed traveling and toured the country with her husband for many years in their motor home and collected many lifelong friends along the way.
Dottie is survived by her husband, Robert; her daughters: Julie Olds-Walters, Patti Ruiz, Sally Swanson and Jill Church. She left eight amazing grandchildren; one adorable great-grandchild; and her dog, Eddie, who was her faithful companion.
Funeral services were held in Ellenton, Fla., on Jan. 8, 2013, and were attended by an overflowing group of beloved family and friends.
Dottie will be remembered as a beautiful person both inside and out. She had an adventurist spirit, was gracious, and loved her family and friends.
