A city man is behind bars and is facing a drug and weapon charge.
Abner Cintron-Melendez, 27, of Jamestown was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon at 8 p.m. Thursday.
Jamestown police executed a search warrant at 804 Prendergast Ave. after an investigation into the illegal sales of narcotics led them to the location. Upon arrival, officers found Melendez at the residence with a .25 caliber handgun as well as a quantity of crack cocaine and cash.

He was taken to Jamestown City Jail where he is awaiting arraignment.
