The Chautauqua New York Chapter of NSAL will be accepting applications for their third annual competitions in voice and art, as well as national career awards in printmaking.
The age requirement for Winston Art and Voice applicants is 16 to 22 by Feb. 1 for both competitions. Former applicants may apply again for a scholarship.
The focus for the Career Awards Scholarship is printmaking and will consider the following techniques: mono print, serigraph, wood cut, etching, lithograph, dry point and calligraphy. Computer graphics and photography are not included in the 2013 competition.
The printmaking competition is open to all citizens of the United States between the ages of 18 and 29. Winning portfolios from the regional chapter will be submitted to national judges by Friday, March 22.
National judges will view the submitted electronic portfolios and notify chapter finalists by Friday, April 19, as to which of the five works must be physically sent to Pittsburgh, Pa.
The finalists' works will be presented uniformly at the 2013 national conference. Selected works will be included in a one-year traveling exhibition to various chapters of The National Society of Arts and Letters.
