Fitness Program Being Offered
Jamestown Community College's Total Fitness program and Faculty Student Association are offering five-week fitness classes during the winter and spring. Sessions are held from Jan. 14 to Feb. 25, March 5 to April 7, and April 16 to May 19. Toning With Weights meets from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays and Water Aerobics meets from 9-9:45 a.m. on Saturdays. The cost is $3 per class or $25 for 10 prepaid classes for Total Fitness members and $6 per class or $50 for 10 prepaid classes. Classes are conducted in the Physical Education Complex. The Jamestown Community College Alumni Association's "One Night at the Disco" on Jan. 25-26 has sold out. Ticket reservations are no longer being taken.
Nostalgia Night
Is Wednesday
LAKEWOOD - The fourth annual Nostalgia Night, sponsored by the Lakewood Historic Museum, will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the Busti-Lakewood Recreation Center. Roger Gilbert, retired Jamestown school administrator, will speak on ''The Amazing Life of James Jessie Strang." There is no admission charge.
Water May Be Discolored Today
A downtown Jamestown building will test its sprinkler system from 9-10 a.m. today, according to the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities. As a result, BPU water customers in the downtown area may see discolored water today.
Gerry Department To Meet Tuesday
GERRY - The Gerry Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Gerry Firehall. The group will nominate and elect officers for 2013. All members need to be present for the election. Refreshments will be served.
Library Board
To Meet Tuesday
FREWSBURG - The Myers Memorial Library Association will meet at 6 p.m. at Tuesday at the library. Membership is open to anyone over the age of 18. The annual dues are $1. Trustees will be voted on with terms ending in January 2016. For more information, call the library at 569-5515 or contact Mel Feather, board president, at 569-4092. The library's board will meet at 6:30 p.m., immediately following the association meeting. Officers will be elected and the 2013 budget voted on. The public is welcome to attend. Also on Jan. 15, the library's board and staff members will host a thank you reception for the community from 3-6 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
Salamanca BPU To Meet Tuesday
SALAMANCA - The regular meeting of the Salamanca Board of Public Utilities will be Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the conference room of the municipal building. Regular monthly meetings for 2013 will be held on the third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m.
