Jamestown broke things wide open after a close first period and the Lady Red Raiders picked up their seventh win of the season, topping Lancaster, 64-34, in ECIC Division 1 girls basketball at McElrath Gymnasium on Friday night.

Both teams played evenly with JHS holding a 12-11 lead after the first quarter ended. Then Jamestown (7-2) kicked things into high gear, outscoring the Lady Redskins 18-7 in the second to take a 30-18 lead at the half.

"Our kids really stepped it up in the second quarter," said JHS coach Mark Nugent. "We started going to the basket more and that made the difference the rest of the way."
