ALLEGANY - Jamestown earned its way into the championship game of the IAABO Tournament at St. Bonaventure University after posting a victory over Randolph on Thursday and were hoping to build on that success when it battled Bradford on Friday.
Unfortunately, the outcome the Lady Red Raiders (2-0, 6-2) sought wasn't a positive one as they fell short, 74-62.
Jamestown trailed, 32-31, at halftime, but Bradford, led by Ali Rinfrette, went on an 8-0 run to start the third quarter and led by as many as 14 points at one point. The Lady Red Raiders, however, weren't finished and came back to trim Bradford's lead to just two points in the final period, but foul trouble, coupled with Bradford's 9-for-13 free throw shooting, proved to be too much for JHS to overcome.
Rinfrette, who finished with 30 points, was named as the tournament's most valuable player and had help from teammate Kaserra Owens, who scored 22.
Anne Campion had an outstanding night for Jamestown with 22 points while Olivia Nugent and Chrisanna Green each had 11 points. Green also led in rebounding with 10 and made five steals. Nugent and Karisha Tapia each had six boards and Rosa Velazquez had four assists.
Both Nugent and Green were named to the All-Tournament Team.

RANDOLPH WINS IN OT
ALLEGANY - There was plenty of excitement in the consolation game between Randolph and Olean and it took a big comeback and an extra period for the Lady Cardinals (3-0, 6-2) to post a dramatic 64-58 victory.
Randolph was stone cold at the start while the Lady Huskies shined, building a 29-14 lead by halftime.
"We weren't playing with the flame lit in that first half," said Randolph coach Shawn Huntington. "I did what I had to do to light it during the halftime."
As a result, things were certainly much different for the Lady Cardinals in the third quarter.
Suddenly, Randolph's offense came alive, going on a big 26-13 run that trimmed Olean's lead to just two points entering the final period and with about three minutes left, the Lady Cardinals tied the game. Things went back and forth and the game was knotted at 52-52 at the end of regulation after Olean hit a basket that came after the buzzer.
In the overtime period, Mckenna Maycock, who ended her night with 27 points, 11 rebounds, two assists and two steals, delivered a pair of huge 3-point baskets and was solid at the foul line to seal the come-from-behind victory. She was also named to the all-tournament team.
Also for the winners, Mandy Finch produced 12 points and Santana France added 10 points with five assists and four steals.
For the Lady Huskies, Sara Zieglar led in scoring with 19 points, Maggie Moore netted 14 points and was also named to the all-tournament team and Emily Adelman had 10 points. Moore and Zieglar each posted 11 rebounds.
