FREWSBURG - For the second straight outing the Frewsburg Bears (7-1) breezed to victory, downing Panama, 74-44, on Friday night to win the Frewsburg Holiday Tournament. On Thursday in the first round of the tourney, Frewsburg prevailed over Maple Grove, 73-43.
Shawna Raymond of Frewsburg was named the Most Valuable Player while teammates Annie Berg and Reyanne Strong were selected to the all-tournament team. Brittany Lenart and Carly Abbate of Panama and Emily Swanson of Maple Grove were also chosen.
Raymond, who scored 24 points in the opening win versus Maple Grove, repeated again as the Most Valuable Player for the fourth straight year. She scored 18 points, had nine assists, eight rebounds and four steals in a fine all-around performance.

Berg dropped in eight and Raymond seven during a 23-14 first quarter run that propelled the Bears to victory.
Strong came through with a stellar effort, finishing with 19 points, five steals and five rebounds and Berg adding 14 points, six rebounds, five steals and four assists. Bethany Steele had 10 points for Frewsburg, which had 41 rebounds, 22 steals and 20 assists, and shot 31-of-72 from the field.
For Panama, Brianna Marsh had 12 points.
