FREWSBURG - Shawna Raymond poured in 20 of her 24 points in the first half as the Frewsburg Bears earned a berth in the championship game following a 73-43 victory over Maple Grove in the Frewsburg Holiday Tournament on Thursday.
Raymond led the way in the second quarter, scoring 13 points as the Bears went on a 21-7 run to take a commanding, 47-23, lead by halftime. She also had five steals to complete the day.
Both teams shot well from the floor with Frewsburg going 29-of-70 for 41 percent while the Lady Red Dragons (1-1, 2-4) were 17-of -33 for 39 percent.

Also for the Bears (2-0, 6-1), Reyanne Strong was outstanding with 17 points, seven steals and six assists; Annie Berg had seven rebounds and four assists; Olivia Lynn added six boards and Emily Hair contributed four steals.
For Maple Grove, Emily Swanson led the way with 20 points, eight rebounds and three assists and Lauren Nickerson grabbed 13 rebounds.
Frewsburg will play Panama in the championship game at 6 p.m. today.

LENART LEADS WAY
FREWSBURG - Panama earned a spot in today's championship game after posting a first-round 55-42 victory over Falconer.
The Panthers (2-0, 3-1) put together four solid quarters, including a 28-16 lead at halftime.
Leading the way for the winners were Brittany Lenart, who had another huge game with 25 points, six steals and three blocks. Also, Brianna Marsh led in rebounds with 10, Brianna Swanson had five steals and Carly Abbate added three assists.
For the Lady Golden Falcons, Shannon Gunnell collected14 points and 19 rebounds with five steals and Emma Steele had 11 points and six assists.
Panama will move on play host Frewsburg today at 6 p.m. for the tournament championship.
