FREWSBURG - Dixie L. McLaughlin, 71, of 136 Falconer St., Frewsburg, died Sunday (Dec. 23, 2012) at WCA Hospital.
She was born March 14, 1941, in Buffalo, the daughter of Marvin Howard and Gertrude Teater Napier.
She had been employed at the Frewsburg Hotel, Andersons Restaurant, the Frewsburg Rest Home and the Frewsburg American Legion where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary.
She loved and enjoyed her family, reading, knitting, crocheting and spending time on the computer.
Dixie is survived by her husband John McLaughlin, whom she married July 22, 1989; three sons: Dana (Lori) Nelson of Jackson, La., Don (Joann) Nelson of Milton, Fla. and Duane (Debbie) Nelson of Tampa, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Darryl Nelson, and a sister, Versa Kay Gross.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg. Dixie's son, Don Nelson, will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Frewsburg.
The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service in the funeral home.
