Community Praise Choir Presented “O Holy Night”

December 25, 2012
The Post-Journal

To the Readers' Forum:

I had to share this with Jamestown and the joy I had directing the Community Praise Choir singing ''O Holy Night.''

I have had the blessing of directing some very large choirs and very small choirs over the years of my ministry. I can say from the bottom of my heart this was the best choir that I have ever stood in front of and directed.

It took everything I could do to keep from breaking down emotionally when they sang. The harmony and balance between parts is as beautiful as I have ever heard. When my 4-year-old granddaughter heard them sing she leaned over to her dad and said, "Daddy they sound like angels."

How does one put into words the joy and blessing they have been to me as we worked on this presentation? I cannot believe God would allow me to stand before a choir again after the doctors in Dothan, Ala., told me in 2006 that if I ever directed, sang, or preached again my heart would explode if it got over so many beats per minute.

I have to tell you the doctors were right, my heart did explode but it was from being so blessed by the most anointed choir I have ever directed.

The choir was made up of folks from Busti Church of God, First Church of God in Jamestown and Falconer, Fluvanna Community Church, Lakeside Bible Chapel, and Martin Road Christian Fellowship. We are looking to begin work on a Fourth of July musical. We had 60 singers in this choir and our goal is to have 100 singing for July. If your church would like to be notified when practices begin, call me at 499-2414.
