Marie F. Keefe, 90, formerly of the Hunt Road Apartments, died at 5:07 p.m. Saturday (December 22, 2012) in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Jamestown, Jan. 28, 1922, and would have been celebrating her 91st birthday next month. She was the daughter of Howard and Helen Noon Spitzer.
Marie enjoyed her life of being a mother and homemaker and later became a nurse's aid to help others. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and attended Lakewood Baptist Church. She had loved her church life until dementia took it away from her. Marie loved her red cardinal birds and will be remembered every time one is seen. She will be sadly missed by her children and grandchildren.

Marie is survived by five children: Donna (Dennis) Eastman of Jamestown, Robert J. (Barbara) Keefe of Jamestown, Pamela (Jack) Pratt of Lakewood, John Keefe of Jamestown and Mark Keefe of Rochester, N.Y.; nine grandchildren: Doug Walrod, Stacy Barrett, Shawn Walrod, Jill Dejewski, Diane Amos, Kristine Keefe, Ian Lascell, Joshua Lascell and Jennifer Abbott; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Betty Johnson of Warren, Pa.
In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Robert E. Keefe, who died Sept. 13, 2009; and a grandson, Jason Keefe.
A memorial service will be announced in the spring of 2013.
