Westfield Man Charged After?Two?Accidents In City

A Westfield man is in the Jamestown City Jail after driving while intoxicated and fleeing the scene of two property damage accidents over the weekend.

At 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Jamestown police officers were alerted to a property damage accident on the Barrett Street off-ramp at Washington Street. While en route, officers were notified a vehicle had fled the scene of the accident before striking a utility pole at the intersection of West Second and Washington streets.

Upon arrival, police learned Daniel J. Ficcara, 24, of Westfield had fled on foot after hitting the utility pole. Officers later found Ficcara, who was determined to be intoxicated. He was charged and taken to Jamestown City Jail.

Ficcara was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI and two counts of the leaving the scene of a property damage accident. He is awaiting arraignment.
