CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT
John G. Caldwell, 58, of State Street, Ripley, was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief at 9 a.m. Friday for an incident on Dec. 9. Police report Caldwell allegedly shot bb's at his neighbor's windows, causing damage. Caldwell will be in Ripley Town Court later.
Morgan T. Paddock, 27, of Jamestown, and Richard C. Neal, 28, of Mayville, were both charged with second-degree promoting contraband at 11:40 a.m. Saturday. Police report Paddock brought in and passed a bag of tobacco to Neal, an inmate at the Chautauqua County Jail. The incident was witnessed by a corrections officer. Paddock was detained as well as Neal. Paddock was arraigned in Chautauqua Town Court, released and will be in court later. Charges and a detainer were filed against Neal in Chautauqua Town Court.
Loren E. Johnson, 26, of Swede Road, Fredonia, was charged with failure to use a turn signal, open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, unlicensed driver, driving while intoxicated, DWI and having a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or more after a deputy pulled Johnson over for not using a turn signal at 10:41 p.m. Friday. While interviewing Johnson, the deputy noticed an opened can of Coors Light in the center console. A license check showed Johnson had an expired and revoked Nebraska incense. Johnson will be in court later.
David M. Niemeyer, 21, of Meadows Road, Ashville, was charged with petit larceny. Deputies allege Niemeyer on Friday stole two iPods from a home on Old Route 17 in Chautauqua. He was arraigned in Chautauqua Town Court and taken to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $500 bail.
Jeremy P. Green, 33, of Falconer, was charged with felony DWI, aggravated DWI per se and insufficient tail lamps at 2:09 a.m. Sunday. Police say Green was operating a truck on Route 20 and had insufficient tail lamps. After being pulled over, deputies found Green to be intoxicated, with two prior DWI convictions within the last 10 years, making the current charge a felony. A breath test showed Green to have a blood-alcohol content of .18 percent or higher. Green was arraigned in Westfield Town Court.
JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
Frank J. Bindics Sr., 36, of Jamestown was charged with first-degree criminal contempt. At 4:32 p.m. Saturday, officers were dispatched to Jefferson Street for a report of a man standing outside of a house. There is a valid City Court order of protection for Bindics to stay away from a woman living in the home, a police report said. Bindics ran away before police arrived, but he was found a short time later. He was taken to the Jamestown City Jail without incident. Because Bindics had prior convictions for criminal contempt, he was charged with a felony.
Lauren N. High, 21, of Hamburg, N.Y., was charged with DWI, aggravated DWI and failure to maintain lane at 2:05 a.m. Sunday. Police were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on Foote Avenue in Jamestown. Officers found a vehicle had hit with a tree off the road. High was identified as the driver and further investigation found her to be intoxicated. She was taken to Jamestown City Jail. A breath test showed High's blood-alcohol content to be over twice the legal limit. She is awaiting arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT
Joyce Wonder, 72, of Jamestown was charged second-degree harassment at 4 p.m. Saturday after officers were dispatched to a harassment complaint at the Bosco Trailer Park. A woman in the trailer park said Wonder swung a baseball bat at her and swore at her. Wonder will be in Busti Town Court later.
Shane R. Eshbach, 22, of Jamestown was charged with attempted petit larceny and fourth-degree criminal mischief at 6 p.m. Friday following an incident at the Lakewood Wal-Mart. Police say Eshbach damaged property and attempted to steal merchandise belonging to Wal-Mart. He was arraigned in Busti Town Court and taken to Chautauqua County Jail. He will be back in court later.
Misty R. Gray, 39, of Fairmount Avenue, was charged with petit larceny after she allegedly left Wal-Mart in Lakewood without paying for merchandise. Gray was stopped by Wal-Mart Asset Protection officers and was issued an appearance ticket to be in court later.
NEW YORK STATE POLICE
Jared Sundlov, 23, of Mayville, was charged with DWI on Sunday. State troopers report seeing a truck on Route 430 in Sherman that had been wrecked and abandoned. An investigation showed Sundlov had driven the truck while intoxicated, went off the road, causing the accident and then left the scene. Sundlov was charged and taken to the State Police barracks in Jamestown, where he provided a breath sample of .15 percent. He was processed, issued several tickets, including leaving the scene of a property damage accident, and turned over to a sober person. Sundlov will be in Sherman Town Court later.
