Cornell To?Appear On Senior Report

MAYVILLE - Senior Report with Reed Powers will have Lori Cornell as the guest on the Dec. 29 television program. Cornell is minority leader in the Chautauqua County Legislature. The live, call-in program airs from 9-10 a.m. Saturday. Individuals may call 753-5225 during that time with questions or comments. The program is rebroadcast each day at 2 and 8 p.m. for some communities. Reed Powers, host of Senior Report, has been producing the television program since 1995. Senior Report is shown live on Saturday mornings on Time Warner cable systems covering the following communities: Brocton, Cassadaga, Chautauqua, Fredonia, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Ripley, Sherman, Stockton and Westfield on Channel 5. In Dunkirk, Falconer, Forestville, Hanover, Irving, Jamestown, Lakewood and Silver Creek the program is on channel 19. The show originates at the Access Channel 5 studio in Mayville.

Post Offices To Close At Noon

All area post offices will be open today but all will close at noon. Regular mail delivery today and blue collection boxes having final collection times before noon today will not be affected. Collection boxes with final collection times scheduled after noon will be collected by noon. Revised hours will be posted at each post office. Post offices will be closed on Christmas Day, Tuesday, and only Express Mail will be delivered. Regular mail delivery and post office hours will resume Wednesday.

Food Pantry

Benefit Is Saturday

SUGAR GROVE - A group of local bands is coming together to play in a benefit event to raise money for the local Sugar Grove Food Pantry at 3 p.m. Saturday. The bands Days of Old, Hi-Fidelity, Beyond the Illusion, Fallen out of Favor and Hearts Like Riots will gather at the Sugar Grove Free Methodist Church gymnasium to play. The cost to enter to hear all bands is $5. All proceeds will go toward purchasing food for the local Sugar Grove Food Pantry. There will also be refreshments on hand for purchase as well as door prizes. For more information, contact 489-3105.
