Clerk's Office To Close For Week

CARROLL - The Carroll Town Clerk's office will be closed from Monday through Tuesday, Jan. 1. The office will reopen with normal business hours on Wednesday, Jan. 2. For more information or questions, call 569-5365. Messages will be checked daily.

Cat Adoption Fees Waived

The Chautauqua County Humane Society is offering fee-waived adoptions on all Cat Colony cats through the end of the year. The cats come with vaccinations, spay/neuter and health evaluations completed and a microchip. All standard adoption requirements apply. GERRY - The Gerry Town Clerk's office will change Thursday hours to 2-6 p.m. starting Jan. 1.

Salamanca AARP To Meet Jan. 2

SALAMANCA - Salamanca AARP Chapter 844 will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, at the Salamanca Senior Center, 18 Main St., Salamanca. Rick Le Feber will present a program on the history of the McGee Trail. Members are reminded that their volunteer service hours for 2012 are to be turned in at the meeting. Letters of nomination for the Volunteer of the Year award will also be accepted at the meeting. The chapter board will meet at noon Wednesday, Jan. 16, at the Pyramid Inn in Killbuck. Reservations and lunch payment are requested to be made with Rosetta Quattrone at the regular meeting or by calling 945-1843.

Driving Course Begins Jan. 7

FREWSBURG - A five-hour pre-licensing driving course will be held at Frewsburg High School from 6-8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 7-8. Preregister by calling the guidance office at 569-7026 between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Park Group To Meet Jan. 16

The Lillian Dickson Park group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, at the East Side YMCA. There will be no meeting in December. Anyone interested in efforts to revitalize the park and its surrounding neighborhood are welcome to attend.
