Roger W. DuBois, 84, of 147 Euclid Ave., died at 2:01 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, in his home.
He was born Feb. 6, 1928, in Jamestown, a son of the late Lewis E. and Ethel Crego DuBois, and attended Jamestown schools.
Roger was formerly employed by Jamestown Steel Partitions and for many years by Jamestown Electroplating Works, retiring as superintendent in February of 1991.
He belonged to Immanuel Lutheran Church, where he was a former church council member.
A sports enthusiast throughout his life, Roger played basketball in high school and shortstop for the Steel Partition Bomber semi-professional baseball team in his younger years. He later coached Babe Ruth baseball and church league basketball in James-town. An avid golfer, Roger belonged to Cardinal Hills Golf Club and was an active member of the senior golfers at South Hills Country Club. He was also a member of the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club.
Roger is survived by his wife, Priscilla "Pree" Anderson DuBois, whom he married July 25, 1948; three daughters, Judy Ann DuBois and Wendy Joan Reichard of Jamestown, and Melinda Christine (Frank Drexelius) DuBois of E. Aurora, N.Y.; two grandchildren: Andrew Michael DuBois of Jamestown, and Lila Dongyang Drexelius of E. Aurora; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Lewis E. DuBois in 1995, Robert M. DuBois in 1985 and Richard E. DuBois in 1984; and three sisters, Ora Hinder, Esther M. Shay who died in 1993, and in 2011, Marjorie L. Nelson.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church. The Rev. Daniel K. Nagle will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Friends will be received for two hours prior, from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday in the church.
