The Jamestown Police Department is investigating a complaint received last week of suspicious man seen taking to kids near Clinton V Bush Elementary School in the city.

Capt. Robert Samuelson of the Jamestown Police Department said in a news release a male in his 50s was seen in a tan colored Toyota RAV 4 talking to kids last week. The incident took place last Thursday near the intersection of Willard and Anderson streets, a couple blocks away from the elementary school.

"Right now we are just looking for this suspicious person and see what his motivation was," Samuelson said, noting that it appears no crime has been committed, although police are seeking the identification of the male for questioning.

The male is described as having a chubby face, gray hair, balding, wearing a plaid button shirt and holding a brown chihuahua dog as he spoke to the kids.

Anyone who may have information on who the subject may be is asked to contact the Jamestown Police Department at 483-7531, or an anonymous tip can be left at 483-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
