Gowanda Sweeps JHS In Bowling

GOWANDA - The Gowanda boys and girls teams were successful on Monday as both posted 4-0 sweeps over Jamestown at K&L Lanes in Division 1 high school bowling.

The Panthers (16-4) connected for 913-957-973-2,843 with Justin Grimm blasting a 203-223-268-694, followed by Trent Martin with 173-203-184 and Jake Hansen-Ivett rolled a 214.

The Red Raiders (11-9) totaled 810-905-774-2,589 and were topped by Chad Warner with 206-246-145-587 and Brandon Propheter with 210-186-143-539.

In the girls battle, Gowanda (16-4) won a close match with a linescore of 833-765-802-2,400 while the Lady Red Raiders delivered a 786-750-786-2,322

Malyssa Farley led Gowanda with 210-177-168-546, Danielle Lesefske shot 205-160-169-534 and Brittnee Stelley fired a 168-163-182-513

For Jamestown (14-6), Andraya Vazquez led the way with 198-164-180-542 and Sapphire Dean recorded a 169-171-164-504.

FREDONIA PREVAILS

FREDONIA -It was a good day for both the Fredonia boys and girls teams as they both came away with victories over Falconer in a Division 1 action at Lucky Lanes.

The Hillbillies (7-13) won their match, 3-1, posting a 867-742-716-2,325 team total while Falconer fired 694-752-701-2,147.

The high rollers for Fredonia were Nate Wojtkowiak with a 236, Jeff Rowe had a 182 and Collin Schanzlin shot 176.

For the Golden Falcons (2-14), Sam Ryttanbur rolled 178 and Weston Young had a 170.

As for the Fredonia girls (14-6), they produced a 4-0 sweep, shooting a 709-774-775-2,258 while the Lady Golden Falcons (0-20) had 536-545-447-1,528.

Individually for Fredonia, Genna Riddle tossed a 213, Maitland Langworthy drilled a 190 single and Elizabeth Valvo had a 171.

Hannah Wallace led Falconer with 130.

HAASE PACED DUNKIRK

DUNKIRK - Brandon Haase drilled 191-184-231-606 and Alex Kubera a 171-226-565 as Dunkirk (7-9) and Southwestern (13-7) battled to a 2-2 tie at Lucky Lanes.

Dunkirk wound up with 870-792-984-2,606 total pinfall and compared to Southwestern's 902-838-748-2,488.

For Dunkirk, Peter Kubera had a 187, Zach Crandall a 176 and Randy Cooper a 173.

Southwestern was paced by Taylor West with 198-200-569, Brett Worland with 201-179-527, Gabe Bursch with a 185 and 171, Blake Schrope with a 186 and a 172 and Nik Sutter with a 173.

Led by Hannah Schnutt with a 183-175-508, the Dunkirk girls (5-11) beat Southwestern (6-14), 3-1.

Harlie Kalfas drilled a 165 for Dunkirk, which shot a 626-686-731-2,043.

Shelby Kalfas led with 168-175-438, Alexis Berry had a 165-419 and Amanda Stewart a 163-418 as Southwestern spun a 563-722-582-1,867 team total.

BROCTON PREVAILS

CLYMER - Brocton improved to 25-3 for the season with a 4-0 sweep over host Clymer in a Division 2 boys match rolled at Cutting Lanes.

The Bulldogs posted an 873-779-857-2,510 team total while Clymer (4-24) rolled 735-637-602-1,729

For Brocton, Taylor DelCamp was the scoring leader with 216-548, Andy Morello hit 510 and Patrick Bigelow had 498.

David Applebee led the Pirates with 457 and Braydon Dobson added a 409.
